10 Places to Travel to In 2022

Travel was severely limited for most of 2021 and was just starting to pick up again at the end of the year. Although some travel lanes have closed again, we remain optimistic for the year to come. This is where we want to go, if we can, in 2022.

Japan

Travel to Japan Cover

Japan has it all. Busy cities and beautiful nature that’s easily accessible. Start your trip in Tokyo and then take a trip 1 ½ hours south to Mt. Fuji. You can catch beautiful views from Lake Kawaguchi but embarking on a night climb rewards you with a beautiful sunrise. From snowy Hokkaido to tropical Okinawa, Japan has a memorable experience waiting for you.

Norway

Norway offers spectacular natural scenery, interesting cultural experiences, and a leading focus on sustainable travel. The country’s borders were closed for much of 2021 and hopefully that doesn’t repeat in 2022. Visit Norway in the fall for a chance to glimpse the northern lights or visit the north of the country to experience the Midnight Sun.

Indonesia

We all know Bali from too many Instagram photos, but there’s a reason for that. Amazing scenery combined with holiday villas that can be booked for about $20 USD. But there is more to Indonesia than Bali. There are islands such as Ubud or try something completely different like golfing in Batam.

New Zealand

New Zealand’s borders have been closed for 2021. Known for its landscapes that starred in Lord of the Rings, New Zealand is full of soaring mountains and dramatic fjords. Visit the South Island for Mt, Cook and the Milford Sound.

Maldives

Not the cheapest holiday spot on our list but The Maldives is a must visit destination if you have the opportunity. The Maldives is known for crystal blue lagoons and beautiful resort islands. Although the resort islands tend to be expensive, you can try an alternative by booking a boat with friends and island hop for your holiday.

Hawaii

Hawaii is an isolated volcanic island chain, and each island has its own special experiences to offer visitors. It’s known for its famous beaches and rugged cliffs formed by the sea and volcano flows. You can drive the road to Hana which is one of America’s iconic roads. Or you can also spend time on the beach and hike to the dop of Diamondhead on Oahu.

Nepal

Nepal is The Roof of the World and home to the more visited side of Mt. Everest. You can come here for hiking and mountain climbing of course, but there’s also bustling Kathmandu. Nepal is also home to the world’s only protected natural area above 8000 ft. Here you’ll find barren peaks but also rainforests.

South Africa

Incredible coastlines, nature reserves, and exciting cities provide travelers with so many options. Make South Africa a top choice if you plan on visiting Africa, especially if it’s your first visit to the continent.

Switzerland

You come to Switzerland for the mountains and some unimaginable locations amongst the alps. First time visitors, take the Gornergrat Railway way for views of the Matterhorn and surrounding mountains.

Thailand

Thailand Drops 3 Requirements Travel News

Thailand makes the list because its traveler friendly, offers great experiences at a low cost, and anyone can get around the country. Arrive in Bangkok and experience the hustle and bustle of the Bangkok streets, then head down to the southern islands In the Andaman Sea for some fun in the sun or go north to Chiang Mai for its mountains, temples, and visit the hill tribes.

French Polynesia

This probably isn’t on your list and you probably don’t know anyone who has visited. You can go for surfing, scuba diving, or just an experience with very friendly locals that you don’t find in many places of the world.
