Are you bored with staying at the same hotels and not having the entire hotel to yourself? Airbnb has options that fit the requirements of nearly any traveler. We’ve seen treehouses, Hobbit holes and even the Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Machine van. However, its most opulent offering isn’t just a luxurious villa and its comforts, but the entire island it sits on.
Musha Cay at Copperfield Bay is located in the Exuma Chain of the southern Bahamas and consists of a villa, tennis court, dock, and untouched jungle that encompasses the home. David Copperfield bought the island in 2006 for US$50 million. However, now it’s rented out on the booking platform for US$60,000 a night. That nightly rate crowns it as Airbnb’s most expensive listing.
The extravagant accommodation measures 10,000 square feet, holds 12 bedrooms and 13.5 bathrooms, and it also has four other guest houses on the grounds. On the property you’ll find a massage room, gym, activity center, tennis court, and a private dock for the 28-foot Nautilus Rib Catamaran, jet skis, and sailboats. However, you and your party might find yourself spending most of your time at ‘The Landing’, which includes the dining area, bar, lounge, billiard room, and a viewing dock.
Of course, such a vast space such as this can’t run on its own. There are 30 staff members, including chefs, butlers, gardeners, boatmen, and daily housekeeping.
The aesthetics of the island can be traced back to the English colonial style, accented with a breezy tropical feel that is seen in the teak wood furniture, lush green plants, white linen beds, and stone statues.
