Emporium – Bangkok’s Original Lifestyle Shopping Mall

The EM District is a retail area under development near Phrom Phong BTS Station. This new retail development area will feature 3 malls, EmSphere which is under construction, EmQuartier, and the long-standing Emporium.

Emporium is a luxury shopping classic in Bangkok because it was Bangkok’s first luxury lifestyle shopping mall. The BTS Skytrain came a few years after the construction of Emporium, which then Emporium became the first mall to have direct access to a Skytrain station.

Also, if you’re staying at the Emporium Suites by Chatrium, the mall is conveniently connected to your accommodation.

Walking in, you’ll instantly identify the luxury lifestyle mall it was designed to be when you see its white walls with gold accents and marble flooring. The mall wants you to feel that class and sophistication are all around. And although it was built in 1997, it remains a popular spot for entertainment, dining, and of course, shopping.

Starting from the ground floor, it’s clear that shopping at Emporium is a luxury experience. You’ll find high end boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Bulgari, Montblanc, Dior and Gucci. But, if those are a bit above your budget, you can check out the Emporium Department Store at the back of the mall. In the Emporium Department Store you’ll find 6 floors of clothing for men, women, and children, plus cosmetics, toys, interior décor, and sports equipment.

On the mall’s third floor you’ll find a variety of electronic gadgets and accessories as well as the latest from Apple, Sony, and other leading electronics brands.

At the top floor you’ll find a supermarket with fresh foods along with both local and imported goods.

Did you hear that? It’s your stomach grumbling after all that shopping? Stop by the Emporium Food Hall for a variety of foods. There is of course Thai food, but you’ll also find Japanese, Indian, or American. Of course, if you just want a short rest and aren’t ready for a full meal, grab a doughnut from Krispy Kreme, get a scoop of Haagen-Dazs, or a venti from Starbucks.

Emporium also offers a few entertainment options.

Do you want to catch a new movie release before your friends back home? Check out the showtimes at the Emprive Cineclub. Not only will you be the first of your friends to watch, but you’ll also do it luxuriously.

If you’re visiting Bangkok for some shopping or just in the Phrom Phong area and need a break from the heat, Emporium is worth a visit. Who knows, you might find something interesting to take home.
