ICONSIAM: Bangkok’s Best Shopping Mall

Set along the western bank of the Chao Phraya, ICONSIAM is one of Bangkok’s newest entries for record-breaking, luxury developments. The shiny $1.5-billion complex includes two high-end shopping malls, a riverside park, and numerous entertainment options. Plus, as is expected in Bangkok, over 100 tempting places to eat!

Located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, you can reach ICONSIAM by taking the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin Station and heading to the pier, where you can hop on a free river shuttle.

The other, less impressive way is to take the BTS Skytrain’s Silom Line to Krung Thon Buri Station and then ride the BTS Gold Line to Charoen Nakhon BTS Station.

Both options take you directly to the mall.

Shopping at ICONSIAM

IconSiam offers 6 floors of shopping.

Fashion brands take up the first 3 floors, with a nice mix of casual brands like H&M, as well as Thai designer outlets and international boutiques. For high-end fashion, head to the ICONLUXE section on level 1, where you’ll find exclusive boutiques from the likes of Bulgari, Prada, Cartier, and Louis Vuitton.

For most people, the two most interesting shopping options are Siam Takashimaya and the Apple Store. The glass-fronted Apple store is cool and spacious, with sweeping views of downtown Bangkok.

As you head up the different floors, you’ll find sections dedicated to everything else, even car dealerships.

SOOKSIAM, FOOD & DRINK

When you’re there, be sure that you don’t miss SOOKSIAM, the ground-floor floating market, which has impressive features such as temples, long-tail boats, and Thai pavilions.

You can enjoy traditional Thai snacks, shop for regional handicrafts and generally get the floating market experience without leaving the mall.

Whether you’re looking for a quick snack or a gourmet meal, ICONSIAM’s impressive range of restaurants has you covered. You can really choose from any of the restaurants. They’re all popular. Just go where your stomach takes you.

For drinks and bar snacks with a view, head up to HOBS beer garden on the 6th floor.

FIND MORE THAN JUST SHOPPING

The top floor of ICONSIAM has an impressive outdoor area that offers great views of the Bangkok skyline during the day, but really shines at night with its impressive light displays.

The breezy riverside walkway at ground level is another feature that’s put to good use at IconSiam. Decorations are constantly updated to reflect the season, along with impressive water features entertaining the crowds.

During large celebrations like Loy Krathong or New Year’s Eve, Icon Siam’s entertainment includes multimedia light shows that can be seen from several km away.

Although it is a shopping mall, it’s a shopping mall that’s worth a visit, even if you don’t need to refresh you designer wardrobe.
