The whole world is doing its best to return to normal, and that includes the Caribbean. Caribbean vacation destinations are opening up and removing many of their annoying COVID entry requirements.These changes should restore confidence in travelers to explore their favorite Caribbean destinations. Continue reading to take a look at the latest COVID-related entry requirements for some of this summer’s most popular Caribbean vacation destinations.

Aruba

Visitors to Aruba are no longer required to present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test result. However, travelers are still required to complete an online ED Card immigration from and purchase mandatory COVID-19 insurance. The cost of the mandatory insurance is $15 and is required for all visitors aged 15 and up.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas have dropped all COVID-related entry requirements for fully vaccinated travelers and no longer mandates travelers to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa. However, unvaccinated visitors over the age of 2 are required to provide a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR or rapid antigen test taken within 3 days prior to travel.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is one of the most accessible destinations in the Caribbean. There are no pre-travel COVID-19 testing requirements for visitors and travelers can enter without proof of vaccination. However, visitors do need to complete an online the free electronic entry and exit form that combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms.

Jamaica

In mid-April Jamaica dropped all COVID-19 mask mandates and testing requirements. According to Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, “We are optimistic that these simpler requirements will serve to increase the appeal of Jamaica as a premier destination and keep us moving along the road to a stronger recovery for both the tourism sector and the nation’s economy as a whole.”

Puerto Rico

The U.S. CDC decision to drop pre-travel COVID-19 testing requirements from June 12 means it’s just as easy to enter the island as pre-pandemic.

Quintana Roo, Mexico

Travelers to popular Mexican destinations such as Cancun and Riviera Maya can enjoy traveling without any COVID-19 vaccination, testing, or quarantine requirements.

Saint Lucia

Fully vaccinated visitors can enter Saint Lucia without any testing, but unvaccinated visitors who are 5 and up must have a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test result given within 5 days of arrival on the island. All visitors are required to download, print, and complete the Health Screening Form.

U.S. Virgin Islands

As of June 1 all COVID-related entry requirements have been removed. Travelers no longer need to provide proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test result, or complete the USVI Travel Screening Portal when visiting the islands of St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas.
