Siam Paragon is one of Bangkok’s most popular shopping malls. It’s the location of a variety of international high-end fashion brands, one of Southeast Asia’s largest aquariums, a 16 screen cineplex, and a fairly comprehensive selection of world cuisine options.
Siam Paragon is prominently located in front of Siam BTS Skytrain station, where many consider to be the center of Bangkok. The mall contains over 250 shops and the layout is mostly logical. You’ll find that this mall primarily caters to well off Thais and international visitors with cash to splurge.
There are only a couple of other malls in Bangkok where the wealthy come to play. And you might be surprised at how popular they are.
Let’s take a look at what’s inside one of Bangkok’s most well known shopping malls.
Main Floor “The Luxury”
Entering through the impressive glass and steel atrium, you’re greeted with flagship boutiques of major designer brands such as Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Prada.
Around the time of new product launches it might not be surprising to see a queue outside of a shop with people waiting for a chance to glimpse what’s inside.
Brands on this floor include
- Versace
- Bulgari
- Cartier
- Chanel
- Dolce & Gabbana
First Floor “Fashion Avenue”
Move on up to the first floor if merchandise without price tags make you nervous. Prime locations inside the atrium are dominated by high end brands, but you’ll find more affordable labels further inside the mall.
On this floor Zara and H&M among others have massive shops for price conscious shoppers who still demand clothing with style.
Keep on the lookout for seasonal sales, you might get lucky and find a designer bargain.
Other shops on this floor include:
- Coach
- Furla
- Massimo Dutti
- Swarovski
Second & Third Floors “Lifestyle & Leisure”
Floors 2 and 3 are dedicated to lifestyle and leisure. You’ll find a mix of home tech, upmarket home furnishings, luxury cars and other shops. The 3rd floor is also where you’ll find the best stocked foreign language bookstore in Bangkok, Kinokuniya.
Bang & Olufsen and Bose both have their Thai showrooms on the 2nd floor. Many of the showrooms display both professional and consumer audio equipment..
On these floors the crowds begin to thin out a bit because there are less window shoppers. It can be a good place to take a break if you need one. Relax and enjoy the surprisingly refined décor for a shopping mall.
2nd floor shops include:
- Sony
- Asia Books
Car showrooms like:
- Aston Martin
- Bentley
- Maserati
- Rolls-Royce
3rd Floor stores include:
- Crystal & Symphony
- Kinokuniya
Fourth Floor “IT World” & More Restaurants
In addition to the huge number of restaurants on the massive Ground Floor Gourmet Paradise, the 4th floor provides even more options for eating. You’ll also find a variety of IT and electronics shops.
It’s true that you might be able to find cheaper prices elsewhere, but it gives some shoppers peace of mind knowing that nearly all the shops are official dealers and products are always the real thing, unlike some other malls.
Also on the 4th floor is where the very popular Superrich Currency Exchange can be found.
Fifth Floor
The 5th floor is dominated by the 15 screen cineplex, IMAX Theater, and Blue-O Rhythm bowling lanes. It’s also the location of the Royal Paragon Exhibition Hall.
At the Paragon Cineplex you can treat yourself to a VIP cinema experience and enjoy deep-seated leather sofa booths with motorized reclining footrests, complimentary snacks and drinks, and a blanket. But if you can’t do with a normal theater, the Krungsri IMAX Theatre is an option. The screen is around 9 times larger than the average cinema screen and is combined with enhanced resolution, surround sound, and reclining seats.
Siam paragon Overall
Siam Paragon is all about fashionable luxury living, so bring your credit card. Twice a year there are large end of season sales, but you’re likely to find some monthly promotions if you miss the big sales. Furthermore, for a 5% discount on most purchases plus VAT refund you can apply for a Tourist Discount Card at the ground level information desk.
Siam Paragon is a must for anyone seeking a Bangkok shopping experience and no luxury shopping trip is complete without a visit to this mall.
