Review: Marriott Executive Apartments Sathorn Vista | A Top Option for Families & Longstayers

Planning a long stay in Bangkok or traveling with a family? This is an accommodation that might fit your needs. The Sathorn Vista Bangkok is a Marriott Executive Apartments property located in Bangkok’s Central Business District. There’s easy access to main roads, the BTS Skytrain, and MRT system for exploring the city.

The Sathorn Vista Bangkok is 32 storeys and has 4 different types of apartments. You’ll also find an outdoor saltwater pool, pool bar, fitness room, kids club, and MoMo Café.

Check In & Rooms

After checking in, you’ll be escorted to the elevator and from there you’ll proceed up to your room. If you have any vouchers or discounts you intend on using during your stay, this is the time to ask and get full details. We thought we could use a voucher, until we checked out and learned otherwise.

The Sathorn Vista Marriot Bangkok Serviced Apartments offers guests 4 different types of apartments. During our stay we were in a 1 Bedroom Executive Suite on the 20th floor for our visit. Originally, we were booked for a 1 Bedroom Deluxe Suite on the 28th floor and promised a good view.

The room may have been upgraded, but the view definitely wasn’t.

1 Bedroom Executive Suite

The 1 Bedroom Executive Suite, which we stayed in, is 75 square meters with a full kitchen, dining area, and king size bed. The furniture was mostly comfortable. The sofa cushions were a little harder than the chairs, but fine for a relaxing and a bit of TV watching. Overall, it was a comfortable room that would make for a pleasant long stay.

1 Bedroom Deluxe Suite

The 1 Bedroom Deluxe Suite, which we originally booked, is a little smaller at 65 square meters with a well-equipped kitchen, a separated living room, and a bedroom with a king size bed.

2 Bedroom Suite

Moving on to the larger apartments, the 2 Bedroom Suite is a plentiful 100 square meters. Guests can enjoy a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area and 2 bedrooms. One bedroom with a king bed and the other with a queen size bed.

3 Bedroom Suite

3 Bedroom Suites are 130 square meters with 2 king size beds and 1 queen. The refrigerator in the 3 bedroom apartments is considerably larger than the 1 or 2 bedroom apartments. There’s also a full size dining table that can seat up to 6.

3 Bedroom Executive Suite

The 3 Bedroom Executive Suit is the best the property has to offer. At 165 square meters it’s the largest apartment available. There are multiple pieces of furniture for family relaxation and a dinner table for 6. Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third bedroom can have either 2 twin beds or a single bed.

Amenities

Sathorn Vista Bangkok Marriott Serviced Apartments offers comforts beyond the room. Guests can workout in the Fitness Center or lounge by the pool. There’s also a very well-equipped Kids Club for families with small children. All of these amenities are found on the 5th floor.

The Fitness Center is well-equipped with a punching bag, numerous machines for cardio workouts, and an assortment of free weights for strength training. The swimming pool is a large saltwater pool that also has a whirlpool off its side. You’ll also find a Children’s Pool for the kids. There are also plenty of beds for lounging and towels are provided, so you can kick back and read a book or swim laps.

FOOD & DRINK

MoMo Café is the only restaurant on the property. During our stay there was a meat buffet on the menu. However, for our dinner we ordered from the Pool Bar food menu, which comes from the MoMo Café kitchen.

The cheeseburger we ordered was a sizable portion and was delicious. The Baked Ham & Cheese was also a full dish and satisfied the taste buds. Both came with a side of French fries. The hotel’s Pool Bar has a good variety of drinks, beers, and liquors. We took advantage of the Happy Hour menu that ran from 17:00 to 20:00 of buy one get 1 free drink specials.

The beer menu was limited to mostly local bottled beers. We went with a couple of Heinekens. The Happy Hour cocktail menu offered more variety. We enjoyed a margarita and a Tom Collins. The drinks weren’t the strongest, but they weren’t bad either.

MoMo Café is where you’ll also find the breakfast buffet. It’s a standard international buffet with omelets made to order, some deli sliced breakfast meats, fruits, vegetables, soups and salad.

SUMMARY

Overall, we had a good experience. We did face an issue at check out with the use of a voucher. At check-in we asked and were told we could use it for food and drinks. However, at check-out we were told it had to be used on a bill only for the meal, and cannot be applied to our total bill. We were also slightly disappointed to have been promised a 28th floor with a good view of the city when booking, but then “upgraded” at check-in to a slightly better room with a view of the neighboring condo.

The room was comfortable and well equipped, the pool environment was relaxing, and the food and drinks were delicious, which did help to negate those 2 issues during our stay. Despite the two issues during our stay, it’s certainly an accommodation that should seriously be considered when booking for long stay visitors or entire families on holiday.
