Review: Rabiangprai Valley Resort | Nestled in Nature

Most visitors to Thailand come for the beaches, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t inland scenery and environments to be enjoyed by even international visitors to Thailand. Rabiangprai Valley Resort is located at the edge of Khao Yai National Park and offers guests a wonderfully unique and relaxing experience surrounded by mountains and lakes.

Rabuangprai Valley Resort is located about 2 hours north of Bangkok in Nakhon Nayok. If you want to immerse yourself in natural surroundings that isn’t a beach, this is a great option. But be warned, you won’t’ be anywhere near any nightlife or entertainment venues.

The resort itself is spacious and covers an area of 35 rai., features multiple cabin type accommodations as well as areas for camping, so feel free to bring your own tent. The resort also offers a wide range of available activities as well as its own cast of characters.

Rabiangprai Valley Resort Rooms

For accommodation, there are cabins for anywhere from 2 to 10 guests.

We stayed in Baan Nonsi, a single house with a private balcony. The house was a good size for 2 people. The closet was sufficient, and the air conditioning made the room rather comfortable. The bathroom wasn’t luxurious, but it had its own charm that fit the atmosphere of the resort. The false tree stump along with a real plant at the back of the shower was a welcome touch.

During our stay there was plenty to keep busy with, so we didn’t even turn on the television.

For Baan Nonsi, nightly rates are 2,000 baht on weekdays and 2,200 baht for weekends and holidays.

Other houses are larger with multiple bedrooms. Some rooms also have an outdoor whirlpool bathtub.

Food & Drink At Rabiangprai Valley Resort

There’s only one restaurant at Rabiangprai Valley Resort, but the food is delicious. After our first meal, we had no qualms about ordering the rest of our meals from the hotel. Every dish we had was well presented, filling, and tasted good.

However, bear in mind that you won’t find any Western dishes on the menu. It’s strictly Thai dishes.

We did eat a variety of foods off the menu, both at the resort restaurant and food delivered to our room. The prices for food is reasonable. Ordering room service adds an extra 10% charge to your bill.

Breakfast is also served at the restaurant, which also serves as the lobby. The breakfast options are a little limited, although served as a buffet style. The food prepared for breakfast was good. So, if you aren’t expecting the wide-ranging international buffet of a major hotel, the breakfast here should be a fine start to your day.

Did we mention the food was delicious? Well, we’ll say it again, the food was really good.

If you can’t handle any Thai food or have your own reservations, we recommend bringing your own food because you’ll have to drive or rent a bicycle to reach the nearest shop for potato chips and a sandwich.

Rabiangprai Valley Resort Activities & Amenities

The Rabiangprai Valley Resort offers a range of outdoor activities for guests as well as a massage service.

There’s also a large swimming pool divided into 3 sections, which includes a fun elephant waterfall for kids to play under and a slide for both adult and children to enjoy.

As for outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone.

You’ll find rafting and kayaking, abseiling, archery, ATV and bicycle rental, BB gun shooting, fishing, or hiking and trekking.

We hiked to Khlong Ta In Waterfall and did some target shooting with a BB pistol.

Plus, no matter even the most expectedly mundane walk from our house was made interesting and fun by the chickens and peacocks we’d run into along the way.

To Sum THings Up

If you’re seeking a relaxing atmosphere surrounded by nature, maybe don’t go to the beach and instead visit Rabiangprai Valley Resort. Drive yourself or even take a taxi from Bangkok, it’ll be worth it. We can’t recommend the Rabiangprai Valley Resort enough. The staff was friendly and polite, it has the natural and relaxing atmosphere, the hotel restaurant food is on point, and we loved seeing the peacocks and chickens passing by our house or while out for a walk.
