Are you visiting Hua Hin and want to stay on the beach without spending $300 USD per night? If you’re ok with minimal amenities, but delicious food and comfortable rooms, then Veranda Lodge might be the right place for your stay.
The Veranda Lodge in Hua Hin is situated on Hua HIn Beach. It’s a peaceful and quiet escape, despite being just minutes from the resort town’s center. It’s a small boutique hotel that offers spacious air-conditioned rooms and the environment outside of your room is like living in a garden. However, what’s perhaps the most appealing is that you can enjoy delicious al fresco dining with one of the best views of Hua Hin Beach.
Veranda Lodge Rooms
There are 6 room types at Veranda Lodge. All offer internet access, TV with a variety of channels, DVD player, water heater for making coffee or tea, and a refrigerator.
Deluxe Room
During our stay, we were in a Deluxe room with a Double Bed. It was spacious and had a nice little balcony where we could dry our beachwear or just sit and relax. Rates vary depending on the season. Our stay was about 1.600 Thai Baht ($50 USD) per night.
We found our room to be clean and well decorated. Hot water in the shower was reliable. Also, the pillows and bed were very comfortable.
Premier Deluxe Room
Premier Deluxe Rooms are in a renovated summer house and are a little larger than the Deluxe Rooms.
Long Holiday Suite
For families or those staying for longer than a few days, there’s the Long Holiday Suite. This room has a separated living room and bedroom with kitchenette.
Garden Bungalow
Garden Bungalows are also available. Staying in one of these rooms is almost as if you’re in your own Thai home. If staying in one of these, you step out into the garden from your front door and you’re just steps away from the beach.
Balcony Suite
The Balcony Suite of course offers a large private balcony. It features a separated bedroom and large living room, so it might be a good choice for families.
Veranda on Sea Room
To be closest to the sea, book a Veranda on Sea room. Enjoy a private sea view balcony with immediate access to the beach.
Food & Drink at Veranda Lodge
The Veranda Lodge has one restaurant and an incredibly popular coffee shop. The Veranda Grill restaurant is part of the attraction of this hotel. Not only for hotel guests, but also non-guests who come for the restaurant and its Instagrammable backdrop for a meal.
The coffee shop, named Drip Rimlay was busy from opening in the morning until late in the afternoon. We assume it’s the experience of having a great coffee and feeling the cool sea breeze while overlooking the beach.
The Veranda Grill menu offers a variety of Thai and Western dishes served with sizable portions. The Farmer’s Baguette was filling and delicious. This same restaurant is where guests go for their complimentary breakfast, which is selected from a set menu of about 8 options.
Veranda Lodge
The Veranda Lodge is light on amenities, but with its location on the beach and access to banana boats and horseback riding, there’s little more you could ask for. However, kayaks and bicycles can be rented. There’s also a Thai massage service that guests can book for additional relaxation.
There’s also a small swimming pool, which can be good for families or on the rare occasion the sea is a little rough.
Summing It Up
In our opinion, Veranda Lodge doesn’t really need to offer more. We certainly didn’t feel like we were missing anything. We had the beach, food, and drinks anytime we wanted.
We’d even recommend dropping by the Veranda Grill for a meal or two if you’re visiting Hua Hin and staying at a different hotel. The food and drinks are delicious. The rooms are comfortable. It’s also on one of the best areas of Hua Hin Beach. What more could you ask for on a beach holiday?
We can confidently say that Veranda Lodge is a great option for visitors to Hua Hin who are there for the sea and beach, but also want some comfort when it’s time to rest.
