Spotify is partnering with easyJet for the newly launched ‘Listen & Book’ campaign. The campaign offers travelers the opportunity to get personalized travel recommendations that are based on their mood and their music choices. The goal of the campaign is to provide travel inspiration and a unique way of planning a trip.
‘Listen & Book’ leverages Spotify’s streaming intelligence makes it possible for people to discover their travel personality based on their listening habits. The travel personality is then matched to a tailored itinerary that’s made possible by easyJet.
For example, users who listen to calm and dreamy music might find that they could spend their next holiday admiring the Northern Lights in Iceland, relaxing into a Helsinki hot tub, or strolling through Lisbon;s botanical gardens. Recommendations are determined by an artificial intelligence algorithm using music attributes such as the mood of a song, tempo, and the song’s general energy.
“This creative collaboration shows what’s possible with streaming audio. Listeners engage with Spotify to experience inspiration and discovery, and our focus on personalisation enables brands to cultivate meaningful interactive connections with their audiences.”
Richard Frankel, Global Creative Director at Spotify
Once users have discovered their travel personality and have their tailored travel itinerary, they can share their results on social media platforms, book easyJet flights, or listen to their personalized playlist on Spotify. The campaign’s microsite also provides recommendations for music venues at their destinations, so they can check out the local music scene and catch a show when they visit.
The campaign shows that music can be a way for people to embrace local cultures and is a powerful way to create memories. From a commercial perspective, it demonstrates that there are creative ways that brands can engage with streaming audio and reach a target audience.
