SWISS Reveals New ‘Warm Minimalism’ Airbus A330 Cabins

Swiss International Air Lines is introducing a new look for its fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft. The new cabin design is named SWISS Senses, it’s designed to enhance “comfort, tranquility, and well-being” across all four cabin classes, first, business, premium economy, and economy.

Warm Minimalist Style

The design aims to contribute to a new brand experience and embody a style of “warm-minimalism,” according to the airline. This cabin interior change is the airline’s most extensive redesign in its history, SWISS CEO Dieter Vranckx said in a statement.

The airline’s new first class cabin design will have a serene atmosphere, through the use of natural oak doors, high-quality burgundy materials, and indirect lighting. According to the airline, the spacious interior and comfortable bed offer an exceptional long-haul experience to passengers.

The airline revealed that all newly-installed business seats come with seat heating and cooling features, as well as a wireless charging station. The aircraft cabin exudes a cozy and intimate ambiance with the use of claret and anthracite materials.

The premium economy class cabin, introduced in 2022, will boast spacious seating with a hard shell for increased privacy, as well as warm tone-on-tone dress covers and other finishes.

Even the economy cabin will have improved seat ergonomics and larger inflight entertainment screens.

SWISS’s design partner, PriestmanGoode, outlined in a statement:

“From our previous projects for SWISS, we understand just how important materials and aesthetic values are for their frequent flyers and passengers across all cabins. Working with the SWISS team, we built a look and feel that was inspired by the country’s DNA, especially from the natural landscape, but also from the heritage in design and architecture, and this helps define the new SWISS Senses cabins.”

PriestmanGoode statement

SWISS currently has a total of 14 Airbus A330 aircraft in its fleet, and will be revamped as soon as 2025, according to ch-aviation.com data. Later, the airline’s Boeing 777-300ERs will receive the new interiors. Additionally, the new A350-900 jets the carrier has on order will arrive with the new cabin design already installed.
