Terminal 21 Rama 3 – One of Bangkok’s Newest Shopping Malls
One of the newest malls in Bangkok with a riverside setting, every level at Terminal 21 Rama 3 represents a different country, from a Harry Potter style train (platform 3 ½) and huge London Tower Bridge on the English level to some snow monkey themed toilets on the Japanese floor.

Opened in late 2022, Terminal 21 Rama 3 is Bangkok’s newest riverside shopping mall.
Bangkok is no stranger to riverside shopping, ICONSIAM, Asiatique and a couple others all have prime waterside locations on the Chao Phraya.
Terminal 21 Rama 3 is expertly designed with choices of fashion or food, coffee or clothing, there are also hundreds of shops to browse plus dozens of restaurants to dine in. It also has one of the biggest and cheapest food courts in the whole of Bangkok.
There are seven floors of international theming to enjoy too.
Terminal 21 Rama 3 Floors
Bangkok’s Terminal 21 Rama 3 is open daily from 10am to 10pm, however individual store opening hours may vary and the cinema closes later.
Like all the other Terminal 21 shopping malls in Thailand that have come before it, Terminal 21 Rama 3 continues the international theming and fun displays across every floor. If you’ve ever been to Terminal 21 Asok or Terminal 21 Pattaya before, you know what to expect.
But this time, the theming is bigger and better!
Lower Ground Floor – Caribbean
The lower ground floor is mainly a food court with other food and drink kiosks, plus a large Tops supermarket and a Daiso Japan store.
The theming on this floor of Terminal 21 Rama 3 is Caribbean with lots of beachside features like a pirate ship, a large lighthouse, a whale, a flamingo pond and even a bathroom themed with surfboards.

Ground Floor – England
London calling!
And other parts of England too like the Grand Union Canal.
There is so much English theming like Mini cars, swan ponds, canal boats, Union Jacks on the ceiling and more.
Better yet, the centre-piece is a huge model of the Tower Bridge, one of London’s most famous landmarks.
There are also cute Paddington Bear type statues everywhere and a Harry Potter style platform 3 ½ steam engine and bathroom.
First FLoor – Italy
A little piece of Italy comes to Bangkok in the shape of the first floor at Terminal 21 Rama 3.
There are Italian touches across the entire level, including a recreation of the Venice canals, complete with gondolas which you can sit inside and pose for a photo.
You’ll also spot a pizza delivery boat, a dog in a Vespa scooter plus a recreation of the classic Verona balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet.
Second Floor – France
Viva La France!
Take a trip down an Autumnal Parisian street, or enjoy a French style fairground carousel.
There are even supporting pillars made to look like baguettes plus huge croissant benches you can use to relax.
The centerpiece of the French level at Terminal 21 Rama 3 is a beautiful hot air balloon that floats in the middle of the shopping mall.
Do you recognize the passenger in its basket?
If you thought it couldn’t get any more surreal or stereotypical, there are dogs in berets plus a themed Tour De France bathroom.
Third Floor – Japan
From a foray of foxes to snow monkey onsen toilets, seriously.
The third floor of Terminal 21 Rama 3 is turning Japanese with an awesome array of artifacts like cherry blossom trees, and lanterns dangling from the ceiling,
Other highlights to look out for include recreations of iconic Japanese moments like the boy and dog statue from the Issen Yoshoku restaurant in Kyoto, the bright lights of Shinjuku and the mochi making with hammers as seen in Nara.
Fourth & Fifth Floors – USA
The final two floors at Terminal 21 Rama 3 are American themed with the SF Cinema Terminal 21 area decked out to look like Hollywood complete with popcorn themed seats, a huge Oscar Statue, plus film canister ceilings.
The famed Terminal 21 Pier 21 Food Court area, which they have in every Terminal 21, is made to look like the San Francisco Bay area with model seals, and all manner of nautical theming.

In keeping with the international theming on each floor, the restrooms at Terminal 21 Rama 3 have to be seen to be believed.
Seriously, the toilet theming is so over the top, they must be the best bathrooms in Bangkok.

Terminal 21 Rama 3 Dining & Shopping
There are dining options to suit all budgets and tastes at Terminal 21 Rama 3.
Perhaps most popular is the Pier 21 San Francisco Food Court on the top floor. There are around 20 different food stalls (plus drinks and dessert kiosks) here selling curries, papaya salads, roasted duck, crispy pork, plus a couple of vegetarian options. Most dishes cost around 30 THB to 50 THB and are served within seconds.
Remember to activate a payment card when you first arrive at the Pier 21 food court as no stalls accept cash. You then collect any unused credit from your card when you return it to the kiosk.
There are also restaurants at Terminal 21 selling cuisine from all over the world including Italian, Japanese, and American style food to name a few. Restaurants include Fuji, Sizzler, Banana Leaf and COCO ICHIBANYA.
There are coffee shops alike Starbucks and other dessert shops too.
Across the seven floors at Terminal 21 Rama 3, you’ll find hundreds of famous brands as well as more boutique and independent stalls.
Note that this isn’t a luxury shopping mall. It’s aimed at families, tourists, and casual shoppers, so you won’t find brands like Gucci or Prada.
Popular shops at Terminal 21 Rama 3 include Uniqlo, Moshi Moshi, Boots, Mini So, Daiso, Adidas, and Crocs.
Most health and beauty stores can be found on levels 3 and 4, with a Let’s Relax health and treatment spa also located on level 4.
You’ll find two outdoor terraces and viewpoints overlooking the Chao Phraya River.at Terminal 21 Rama 3. On level 4 is the better outdoor terrace with a few benches and a small seating area. The Terminal 21 outdoor spaces aren’t amazing but can make for a few good photos.
If you want a Bangkok shopping mall with an excellent riverside terrace, try ICONSIAM or Asiatique.
On the top floor next to the cinema, you’ll find Harborland Terminal 21 Rama 3, a ‘wonder sea’ / aquatic indoor adventure playground for kids. Harborland tickets start from 160 Baht for 2.5 hours for a small toddler.
How to Get to Terminal 21 Rama 3
A free Terminal 21 Rama 3 shuttle bus runs every hour from 9am to 9:30pm (with a short break for lunch). The journey takes approx 20 to 30 minutes dependent on traffic You can also track the shuttle-bus in real time via the Viabus app in Thailand.
There are several ways you can get to Terminal 21 Rama 3.
Note that unless you’re staying very close, we would not recommend walking to Terminal 21 Rama 3 as it is next to a very busy road and around a 50 minute walk from the nearest BTS station.
By BTS (Bangkok Mass Transit System) and Shuttle Bus
The best form of public transport to Terminal 21 Rama 3 is from the nearest BTS station to Terminal 21 Rama 3, which is BTS Surasak station.
Take the free hourly Terminal 21 Rama 3 shuttle from here (or take a taxi / GRAB from the station if the shuttle is full).
By Taxi / GRAB
We would recommend taking a taxi to Terminal 21 Rama 3 as it is much more ‘remote’ and away from the main commercial centre of Bangkok.
Note that you may need to pay the 50 THB expressway / highway toll in addition to the taxi fare if you are travelling from certain parts of Bangkok.
