If you find that hard to believe, check out the tunnel at Samyan Mitrtown.

Connecting Samyan MRT Station to the Samyan Mitrtown shopping complex, the 120 meter tunnel boasts a brutalist interior with a partly see through glass floor that reveals external finishing work.

The tunnel’s decoration game can be equally captivating.

It’s a location that’s become synonymous with holiday celebrations, enticing people to pause for photos or just admire the displays.

Chulalongkorn University Pedestrian Underpass

Known as Thailand’s first underground tunnel, this pedestrian underpass was constructed in 1972.

The tunnel wasn’t like it is today. For decades it had a gloomy and foreboding atmosphere.

Today, it has a fun grass pattern and directional designs decorating the floor. There are also mirrors installed and the end of the hallway, so you can see if anyone is behind you.

The Site Museum at Sanam Chai MRT Station broke the mold with its unique location.

In collaboration with the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand and the Bangkok Expressway and Metro, Museum Siam established Thailand’s first underground museum.

This museum invites visitors to dig deep into Bangkok’s history.

The treasure trove of artifacts on display were discovered during the construction of the subway station.

Phahon Yothin MRT Station

The Metro Art project is located in Phahon Yothin MRT Station.

This is a cool and always changing space with exhibitions refreshing every three months.

Visitors can look forward to ever changing collections that promise inspiration.

The Na Phra Lan & Maharaj The Chang Tunnels make it easier to hop around Bangkok’s historic landmarks.

The pedestrian underpass connects popular attractions around Sanam Luang and the Grand Palace. It’s also a place to cool off in the air-conditioned hall.

Doubling as a museum, its exhibitions illustrate the history of Bangkok and timeline of how Bangkok’s architectural styling has changed over time.

Exits from these tunnels take you to different landmarks, including Sanam Luang and The Chang Pier, Bangkok City Pillar Shrine via exit 3, and the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha at exit 4.
