The aviation industry has had a rough couple of years due to the pandemic and the way that the globe has returned to travel with a bang. However, none of what the industry has faced is stopping Airlineratings.com from releasing its annual list of the world’s best airlines.
For the second year in a row Qatar Airways nabbed the top spot. The deciding factor, according to Airlineratings.com is the airline’s decision to commit to flying, even during the pandemic.
Of course profitability isn’t the only data point considered for the rankings. Fleet age, environmental and safety credentials, passenger reviews, and product offerings are also considered.
Number two on the list is Air New Zealand. Like Qatar Airways, New Zealand is also repeating its placement from last year.
Etihad Airways comes in at number three and Korean Air clinched the number four spot. Singapore Airlines rounded out the top five.
Airlineratings.com also ranks the best budget airlines, which are listed alphabetically instead of a numbered ranking. The top budget airlines for 2022 are: Allegiant Air, AirAsia, easy jet, Flair, Fly Dubai, Jetstar, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest, and VietJet Air.
